Since 1999, The Golden Griffin Awards have been honouring students at Red Griffin Martial Arts Studio who have made a significant impact in their class, their community and their lives. The awards are a symbol of Achievement for those students who provide inspiration, exemplify excellence and carry out their ultimate journey to Black Belt.
The Golden Griffin Awards celebrates and honours the martial arts spirit, the success and accomplishments of Red Griffin’s best students and our leaders of tomorrow. The students who have been recognized through these awards exemplify true martial art characteristics. Through hard work, determination, discipline and respect, they have established new paths for other students to follow.
Since the program’s inception more than 300 nominees have been recognized. Over the past 12 years, students have received special recognition awards, most improved awards, sportsmanship, fighter of the year, leader of the year and the top honour of Martial Artist of the Year. This year several outstanding individuals will take their place among our prestigious alumni. This annual event always outperforms prior celebrations, and this year will be no exception.
